PPMP Preparation & Audits

PPMP Preparation

A blue circular graphic features the text "We have a 100% PASS RATE on our PPMP audits to date."

To comply with the requirements of EGBC and APEGA, registered firms must have a compliant Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) in place within 12 months of registration.

We complete all research, writing, editing, formatting, and document design to ensure the successful delivery of a compliant and professional PPMP package. We deliver our PPMPs in a four-phase approach:

1

Material Hand-off

You will provide any and all brand guidelines, including a high-resolution logo, brand colour codes (CMYK or HEX), and letterhead.

2

Confirm Requirements

We will confirm all APEGA or EGBC requirements and guidelines for PPMP developments are up to date.

3

PPMP Writing

  1. We set up a branded PPMP draft outline based on APEGA/EGBC requirements.
  2. We populate all known content and add tagged comments indicating where your input is required.
  3. You provide all required content, either directly in the document or via email.
  4. We format, edit, and ensure compliance with APEGA/EGBC guidelines.
  5. We follow up on outstanding items to ensure the document is complete and compliant.
4

PDF Compilation and Hand-off

Once the collaborative component of document preparation is completed, we will compile the PPMP into a PDF package for you to review and sign.

Deliverables: One complete PPMP package (including appendices) compliant with APEGA/EGBC requirements in both Word and PDF format.

Working with Precision to develop your PPMP presents several distinct advantages to your team:

Peace of mind.

Our 100% audit pass rate for both EGBC and APEGA PPMP documents affords you the peace of mind that your PPMP will be compliant with regulatory requirements.

Lower cost of preparation.

We write faster and at a lower hourly rate than typical Principal hourly rates, meaning you are free to focus on higher value billable work.

Professional design & formatting.

We deliver professionally designed and formatted documents. No fighting with formatting for hours on end.

We know that our approach to PPMP development works because we have successfully developed PPMP manuals for numerous civil, environmental, structural, and geoscience firms with a 100% pass rate upon EGBC/APEGA audit to date.

PPMP Compliance Audits

If you have an existing PPMP you would like to undergo a compliance audit prior to your formal EGBC or APEG audit, we have you covered. We will review your existing PPMP documentation (including appendices) against APEGA/EGBC guidelines for PPMP development and add in-text comments identifying deficiencies and recommending revisions to meet compliance.

A man with glasses and a short beard stands smiling. He is wearing a blue button-up shirt. The background is softly blurred, suggesting an indoor setting with a window view of treetops in the distance.

The ability to produce high-quality technical reports is of critical importance for environmental consultants. Unfortunately, biologists and environmental scientists are not often trained in technical writing and so there is a need for practical instruction of writing basics. To address this need, Alexandra has developed a two-part workshop that teaches basic concepts of technical writing. Palmer hired Alexandra to deliver this workshop and we found the material to be extremely helpful in improving our documents. One of the most useful parts of the workshop was the use of actual Palmer reports to illustrate common mistakes and how to fix them. This hands-on approach allowed us to immediately implement what we had been taught, which is one of the best ways to remember new information. I would highly recommend the writing workshop to anyone or any organization interested in production of high-quality technical documents.
